Outings

Saturday, August 14, 2010 – 5:30 pm

Light Rail Ride & Dinner at Macayo’s

For those of you who are located in the north-west / north-east valley, you will meet Lori at the park and ride lot located at 19th Ave. & Montebello in Phoenix and for those of you who are located in the east valley, you will meet Jackie at the park and ride lot located at Sycamore & Main Street in Mesa at 5:45 pm. We will meet at the 3rd Street & Mill Ave. stop. We will walk to Macayo’s Restaurant, have dinner as a group, take a short stroll down Mill Avenue back to the Light Rail and ride back to our starting location. This outing will not only be a social event for the humans but will offer our puppies in training exposure to traffic, people,

food and other distractions. Please RSVP to Jackie by Wednesday, August 11th.

Bass Pro Shop

1133 N. Dobson, Mesa, AZ 85201

We will meet in front of Bass Pro Shops and walk through the store as a group. There will be different sights and smells for distractions, as well as people distractions. This will be a good opportunity to work with our pups on their obedience and meet & greets. Please RSVP by Sunday, August 22nd.

Monday, September 6, 2010 – 1:10 pm

Service Dog Awareness at the Arizona Diamondbacks game

Chase Field

401 E. Jefferson Street, Phoenix, AZ

We will have a table set-up in the main concourse of Chase Field to display our

literature and answer any questions regarding our program. I encourage all puppy

raisers, graduates and volunteers to attend as this event is all about service dogs

and it will be an awesome opportunity to work the pups in crowds, crowd noise, dog

distraction, food distraction, stairs, elevators, etc. My goal is to have the raisers,

graduates and volunteers take shifts at our table so everyone will be able to enjoy

some of the game. Once I have more information from the Diamondbacks, I will forward so everyone will know the cost involved. This is also a good fundraising opportunity as we can sell tickets to benefit Guide Dogs of the Desert. The Diamondbacks will give back $5.00 per ticket sold, with the exception of seats in the upper level outfield

reserved tickets. Again, once I have more information, I will pass it along and will

ask for an RSVP at that time.
